Being a Pocatello Photographer I am use to bundling up for sessions in multiple layers. These snowy engagement session was no exception. I get a lot of brave clients, like Emily that take off their coat for photos and then put it back on between locations. Nevertheless, I always keep myself bundled up! If I don’t, I can’t think about what I want to capture! Also, have you been in below freezing temps holding a metal camera? It’s not fun! So, I try to hit up multiple locations in one session. Driving to different locations. In this session we went to two locations. First, we went to Gibson Jack. Second, we went to Edson Fichter Pond.

Gibson Jack- Snowy Engagements

I love shooting at Gibson Jack all year round. It’s one of the prettiest areas in Pocatello. Plus, It’s accessible all year round. Hikers frequent the area all year, and in the spring to fall you can find people on dirt bikes or on horses.

The Couple

Emily and Adolfo met while they were in high school in California. They were 16 and instantly clicked. Emily is originally from Lava Hot Springs, Idaho and Adolfo is originally from Los Angeles. They spend two years doing the long distance thing. Adolfo made some trips to Idaho to spend time with Emily and her family! Does Emily look familiar? If so, it’s because we photographed her sisters wedding last year! So, Emily sent in an inquiry for her wedding I was so excited. Overall, we love being able to work with amazing families over and over! It’s such an honor for them to invite us back to document these special moments.

Edson Fichter Pond

Edson Fichter Pond is another one of my favorite locations for chilly pocatello engagements because it’s accessible all year round. The only issue with Edson Fichter Pond is that sometimes it’s really busy with people walking the area. I know why its a popular place to walk- it’s beautiful! Plus, its a big fishing location since they stock the pond with fish every year. This winter we were graced with some adorable otters!
