Hey there- This is Sadie, your Jackson Hole, and Island Park Wedding Photographer. Being a photographer is easy, right? It’s one of those careers that seems to be something anyone can do! Stand behind the camera, tell your models to pose, and click a button.

There is a lot more that goes into being a photographer than just pushing a button. Here are a few things you should know about photographers.

You have to be flexible!

Flexibility comes in a lot of ways, and photographers fall into all of the categories! You have to give up a lot of your time, and the hours vary. From the actual session to staying up after the kids get in bed to edit. You’ll put everything you have into giving your clients what they deserve!

Not only does your time have to be flexible, but your bodies have to be as well! The best way to get a perfect photo is ANGLES! You’ll lay, squat, sit, and do whatever this is to capture your moment perfectly.

You have to learn your camera

If you’ve ever used a camera that is not your phone, you’ve probably seen the “Auto” setting. If you’ve seen it, you’ve probably also used it! This setting is pretty good, but it doesn’t reflect you as a photographer! Knowing how your camera works, and learning how to use the settings will change your life! This takes a lot of time with a lot of trial and error. I know my cameras like the back of my hand. They are almost an extension of my body at this point!

You need to love what you do

Photography revolves around feeling. Becoming a photographer has changed my perspective a lot, and that is what drives me. Without passion, you will burn out. Not only will this passion drive you to keep going, but it will make your photos turn out even better than you can imagine!
