As a Jackson Hole Wedding Photographer there are a couple of secret locations that most people don’t know of – The wedding tree. This session captured the wedding tree sunset! While there are only six ceremony locations inside of GTNP there is one place you can get married without a fee- you just need to get on their schedule.

The Beginning

The wedding tree is a beautiful location, but it’s also not the easiest to find, and parking is super limited. I didn’t even know what the name of it was until a couple years ago! I stumbled upon it after a friend who lived in Jackson Hole told me about it. Everything online said it was an awesome camping location. Once I visited it I tried to photograph it as much as I possibly could.

Scenery : Wedding Tree Sunset

The scenery at the wedding tree is just dreamy and beautiful! You are up on top of your own peak with The Grand Tetons and Grand Teton National Park behind you in the distance. The clouds are often wispy. You are surrounded by lush greenery. You will also find, big beautiful trees, run rocks, and pine tree hills. It is now closed to camping, so you don’t have to worry about camp fire smoke all over your wedding attire.

Sunset Skies

While forest fires are awful, the smoke in the skies gives some beautiful sunsets. Maybe it’s the silver lining? Regardless of smoke the sunsets and evenings in Jackson Hole are beautiful! We love capturing people with that golden lighting with the powerful and commanding Tetons behind them.
