As Jackson Hole photographers we have a deep love for two things, adventure and nature. Without the beautiful nature in the area, we wouldn’t have a lot of opportunities for adventure, so the two play off each other well. Luckily for us, we are blessed with having Grand Teton National Park in our backyard. We are always honored by the opportunity to capture love in one of the most beautiful God created locations on earth. However, it is our job to support this beauty by keeping things as clean, natural, and sustainable as possible. Let’s dive into how to plan your sustainable Jackson Hole elopement!
First, let’s talk about how to respect Grand Teton National Park. When planning your sustainable Jackson Hole elopement, it’s crucial to keep things as simple as possible. When you arrive in the park for your ceremony, keep it simple, the beauty is in those peaks. Throughout the planning process, leave the decor at home, and lean into the adventure of it all. Next, let’s dive into the highlights of leave no trace education.
Next, and probably most overlooked, support local Jackson Hole businesses. While you may be asking how is that sustainable? Throughout the area there are so many incredible businesses and you can support them by choosing them to be on your team. Not only does this give back to the area, but it invites the people that have knowledge of it to help. If you decide to keep your elopement intimate with few vendors, consider making a donation to an organization that help protect the Tetons.
Another option is to buy locally sourced food, or even support Etsy shops! It’s a great way to support sustainablity in the world.
Lastly, when planning your accommodations and travels think sustainably. This includes into and out of the park. Try driving together! It’s a simple way to help out. Another easy way to promote a sustainable Jackson Hole elopement is to use less single use plastics. Whether that’s water bottles, straws, etc.
Nevertheless as Jackson Hole photographers our goal is to capture love, enjoy adventure, and keep Grand Teton National Park as close to perfect as possible. If you have any other questions in regards to what can be brought into the park, or need help planning your elopement – reach out here!
