Any Jackson Hole wedding photographer will tell you that Schwabachers Landing wedding location is the top and most used location in Grand Teton National Park? Why?! It’s jaw dropping. This is the first permit location to sell out. While many people want to plan their wedding or elopement in the summer, I am here to tell you that Schwabachers Landing is beautiful in Spring and Fall alike! Those beautiful green colors may fade slightly but the reflection of the Teton is something else. It’s really not accessible during the winter. But if it was, it would be AMAZING too!

It’s All About the Location

Schwabachers Landing is a boat landing that is just outside of the GTNP gates. Although it’s technically part of the park, you do not need a parks pass to access it! When people come to Jackson Hole and GTNP they don’t expect that there are different mountains/ranges, and that everything looks different when you stop at other locations. When you think of the Teton mountains what you are probably thinking of is “The Grand”. At this coveted spot, you get one of the best views of “The Grand” along with shimmering water, lush vegetation, forested areas, and some cute benches! Those beautiful tetons are just waiting to welcome you into their beautiful landscape.

Spring Schwabachers Landing

Early spring is full of so much transformation for Grand Teton National Park and this beautiful spot. People are surprised to find patches of snow in May and sometimes even June! While these sessions were taken during the same month, you can find a lot of differences. That being said many pros are that it’s typically very colorful. You’ll find vibrant colors and clear skies meaning a clear view of the Tetons behind you. When forest fires in California and Oregon start sometimes the views of the Tetons change ( although they are still cool- just not as BAM in your face!)

Since Jackson Hole is such a popular spot for Grand Teton National Park elopements, and adventure in general, Jackson Hole magazines are beginning to really showcase the Tetons and all the weddings. It’s a great way for brides to get inspiration and see how beautiful Wyoming truly is!

Summer in the Park

June – August is when we see the most action at Schwabachers Landing. Droves of people come to see and photograph the area. Don’t let this discourage you from getting married here. Even in the most high trafficked area people are so respectful of weddings and elopements. I personally haven’t encountered someone being rude ( I have head a couple stories) but I have heard and witnessed so much worse at downtown wedding venues in small towns. What is amazing about this time of year at Schwabachers Landing is the gold hour light, sunsets, low water levels, and well… being at Schwabachers Landing! The best time to be there is in the afternoon or evening. Fall Schwabachers Landing Wedding

Fall is tricky at Schwabachers Landing because it can occur and be gone in a month! It all depends on the weather and wind that year! However, when you can time it correctly it’s AMAZING. This session was in September and in my professional opinion that is the best time to do fall sessions in Grand Teton National Park and Schwabachers Landing. October can be colorful, but it’s too much of a gamble for me sometimes. With all the aspens mixed with pines you get this amazing vibrant and bold color combination that looks like it’s straight out of a magazine!

Schwabachers Landing Spring – Fall Recap

Well there you have it! Schwabachers Landing wedding location is such a beautiful place to get married! If you are getting married in Jackson Hole or Grand Teton National Park it is one you should totally consider.
