Sadie is a Jackson Hole wedding photographer, but she jumped at the opportunity to photograph Maci and Mark’s Rexburg greenhouse bridals. If you know anything about Rexburg, Idaho’s winters are brutal. Although there was no snow, it was FREEZING! Idaho is funny because you never know if its going to be snow up to your knees or dry and frozen.

The Greenhouse

These Rexburg Greenhouse Bridals are only possible thanks to the BYU-I campus that opens this greenhouse to students and the public. It’s a tropical oasis in a frozen tundra of a small rural town. The colors are so bright and vibrant it matches our editing style. Outside of the greenhouse is commonly referred to as “The Gardens”. This is one of my favorite places to shoot because of the diversity you can find in one place.

The Purpose of Bridals

Bridals are by far our favorite sessions and we feel that they are incredibly important!

Weather

The weather in the west is so off and on. You never know what you are going to get and it can change at an instant! Bridals are like insurance on your photos. If the weather is awful you can reschedule bridals. Wanna know what you can’t get reschedule the day of? YOUR WEDDING DAY! When I got my bridals before my wedding the weather was perfect. My wedding day was sleet, rain, thunder – awful! So, I was so glad I invested in a bridal session.

Prints

A huge advantage of doing a bridal session is being able to print and display your beautiful images at your wedding and/or reception! PRO TIP: Print and use your images as decor on your wedding day and then you can use them to decorate your home!

First Look

My favorite thing about doing a bridal session before the wedding is getting the “first look”. This is a set up where (typically) the groom gets to see the bride in her dress before the big day. This intimate setting is much more comfortable and relaxed than on the wedding day. I am able to take a step back and document this magical moment.
