As a Jackson Hole wedding photographer I obviously love weddings, but I also love maternity and birth sessions. When I was leaving for my cruise to Mexico I got an inquiry for some Pocatello maternity portraits and I was so excited I messaged them back before I lost service! They were a referral from my dear friend who is a wedding photographer in the Boise area. It was an honor for me to capture this special moment as they prepare to welcome their baby boy. I can’t wait to do their birth story later this month!

Pocatello Mountains

One of the best things about Pocatello photography locations is the mountains. There are so many options and amazing views. From Scout Mountain, Chinese Peak, Mink creek, or even City creek you get amazing locations and views. Along with the mountains we have some amazing rivers and ponds that add the extra touch to photos.

Portneuf River

When people tell me that they want water in their photos my mind automatically goes to the shallow and accessible locations. To be honest, many of these locations are places where we would play as kids. We would ride out bikes and wade down the river. Maybe swing on the rope swing once or twice as well! We also have mink creek that people enjoy in their photos, and various ponds. However, I find that the ponds are pretty buggy.

 Stephens Performing Arts Center: Pocatello Maternity Portraits

A real gem to the city of pocatello is our renowned preforming arts center. It’s not your average small town preforming arts center. It’s HUGE and it’s one of the best in the west! While shooting inside is pretty, I love shooting maternity photos here. It has such a clean and royal feel to it!
