As a Jackson Hole wedding photographer, the winter weddings can get a little bit cold. Winter always gets a bad reputation when it comes to planning a wedding. News flash, winter weddings are gorgeous! After 10 years and almost 300 weddings under my belt I can tell you that getting married during ANY season in Jackson Hole has its pros and cons! So, here is my official plug about how to plan your Jackson Hole Winter Wedding, and 5 tips on how to make it successful!
1. Embrace the Cold and Accessorize
I love long sleeved dresses and the details that you can find, especially around the wrists! One thing I love, but haven’t had the opportunity to photograph is a fur stole/shawl.I have had brides sport a beautiful jacket and use a special blanket to warm up in during photos. Don’t forget the little details that can keep you warm.

Choosing a venue when planning a winter wedding can feel daunting, but one thing I have found is that venues with natural light make it feel more romantic and winter wonderland-ish! Having a venue where you could run out to take photos and then quickly run back into the venue to warm up!
3. Serve Something Warm and Comforting
During the summer the last thing you want is a piping hot meal or soup, but during winter you can do all of those thing! I love seeing things like hot chocolate and coffee bars along with soups and comfort foods. My all time favorite was bread pudding instead of cake! Bread pudding is pretty much a big hug in a mug, am I right?!
