One thing that never gets old as a Grand Teton wedding photographer is the beautiful views within the park. Those breathtaking peaks, the blue water, and incredible versatility of the location. Sadie and I are always down for an adventure especially when we’re talking about a Jackson Hole elopement or a Grand Teton wedding. However, it’s so important to respect the beauty of the land, and with that we’re sharing our top 3 tips for planning a sustainable Grand Teton wedding. We’re doing our part to maintain the beauty of this planet, and you can too with these few tips.
First things first, you’re already on a great path by choosing to get married in a National Park! The amount of money alone you would save is incredible. But when you pay to obtain the proper fees to marry within the park, that money goes back into conversation efforts. The variety of locations within the park for your Grand Teton wedding are endless, we have a list of our favorites here!
Next let’s talk about wedding invitations. If you think about it, most of those invitations you send out are going to end up in the trash. Sad, but true. Consider a more sustainable option for your Grand Teton wedding invitations – electronic invites or sourcing them through a sustainable company. The first option, electronic invites. While this may not be the traditional option, it is incredibly practical as your guests will be able to add the date into their phone right then, but also, there’s no waste! If you don’t want to opt out of the physical invitation route, look into Paper Culture. Their mission is incredible, and for every order placed they plant a tree, and use 100% recycled paper for their products. Also, consider having guests RSVP online. This is a great option to eliminate excess postage, paper, etc.
Lastly, consider working with local businesses or making your own wedding decor. Not only are there always fantastic local businesses that can help make your vision come to life, they also have the most experience with sourcing products locally. If you aren’t the crafty Pinterest type of bride, consider looking on Facebook Marketplace for couple’s selling their wedding decor. This is a great way to reduce, reuse and save $$ all while planning your sustainable Grand Teton wedding!
Nevertheless, your Grand Teton wedding will be jaw-droppingly beautiful and we would love to help capture those memories forever. Ready to chat? Reach out today!
