As a colorful Jackson Hole Wedding Photographer I have some special lens that help me capture every moment! Now, I feel like it’s important to let people know that it’s just not the lens, its how you communicate with it. Every photographer has a favorite lens, and I am excited to share mine with you!

First, I’ll talk about my 70-200mm. Second, I’ll talk about my 85mm. Third, I’ll talk about my 20-70mm. Lastly, I will touch on why all wedding photographers need a 100mm.

Canon 70-200 2.8

This lens is my baby. Its dreamy, It’s creamy. It’s versatile! The only downside is that it’s HUGE! I’m not lying when I tell you that this colorful Jackson Hole wedding photographer did some serious damage to her wrist when I shot with it for the first time. As a result I couldn’t use my wrist for weeks! If this is a lens you plan on using make sure you condition your body to it before using it for hours at a wedding.

Sigma Art 85mm 1.8

This lens isn’t the best 85mm, but it’s still so creamy! This lens is the perfect portrait lens. I call it my sexy lens because I think it just makes everything look so soft yet sharp. I actually bought this lens from another photographer in Utah because I wanted to try it before I invested in a brand new one. However, after getting it I realized I didn’t really want or need the newer 85mm 1.4 . So, for right now it’s all I need!

20-70mm 2.8

Ever wonder how I get those wide shots with the full range of peaks? Well, its with this lens! While it’s not a creamy as the other lenses its a solid staple in ever session I do! This is the lens I shoot all my weddings with. It allows for me to get wide shots and up close shots. I may have to move a little more than my 70-200, but Its the most versatile of all my lenses.

100 mm

While this lens can be a fantastic portrait lens, this is the lens I use for all of my ring shots! When I have a second shooter with me I love to show off this lens and its capability. I should try to use it more often, but with all of my other lenses it’s just a ring shot lens.

What lens is your favorite?! I know a lot of people who love their 35mm but I have yet to purchase one of those! Over the years I have found these four lenses to really be the only ones I needed and I can depend on them. They work really well for me and my workflow.
