MAY THE 4TH BE WITH YOU | Idaho Puppy Photographer

April 20th, 2018 we drove to Spangle, WA to pick up this little bundle of joy! We have been researching breeders for years. When I found Silver Paw Cavaschons, I knew we found the right match! What is a cavachon? It is a mix between a bichon frise and a king cavalier charles spaniel. It was Sean’s favorite breed, and my favorite breed put together! Plus, cavachons have no to little shedding. That is a HUGE win in my book!

The weeks leading up to the 20th were full of anxiety and excitement! It may sound silly, but I had no idea what to name the puppy. I had a list of 30 names that I LOVED. For months I had anxiety about the name. Then, the night before we left, we found the name, Espen.

Espen is a popular name in Holland and means “Bear of God” in Dutch. Sean and I try to embrace his Dutch heritage as much as possible, and it seemed like the perfect fit! After all, the puppy would grow up to be a fluffy cuddle buddy, so having a name with that meaning was funny to us. We ordered her tag, and off our way, we went!

We spent a couple days in CDA (Coeur d’Alene) before going to Washington. Sean and I LOVE to travel together, and we had a lot of fun exploring CDA and Spokane, WA. We did A LOT of shopping and found a lot of cute stuff for the puppy. Sean is obsessed with star wars. We found some of these Star Wars toys at Petco! I had to put my foot down and only allow him to pick out 3 things. He found the Princess Leia hat and I KNEW I HAD to do a photoshoot with it!

Call me crazy, but I LOVE these images! I am by no means an infant photographer, but I guess I can be a puppy photographer! Espen has been such a good puppy, and we are totally smitten with her! Even when we have to wake up in the middle of the night to go potty. She is worth every sleepless hour!
