Lily is a young, but a PHENOMENAL ballerina! I know I’m her aunt, but she really is amazing! For her birthday we decided to set up a dance-inspired session at The Paris Studios in downtown Pocatello! It was a perfect opportunity to think outside the box and experiment with lighting. It also gave me artistic freedom. As a photographer, it’s easy to get stuck in a rut, and this is JUST what I needed! So, the edits are not my typical editing (and they were quite intense), but I’m in love so I wanted to share!

As someone who has never even attempted ballet, I was dumbfounded at how effortless Lily made every move look. She was also able to do it again, again, and again for me to get the perfect shot! To say she is incredibly toned and strong is an understatement. Lily is a student at Alliance Academy of Dance. She trains rigorously as a selected student participating in the Brindusa Classical Training Program! Lily will also be going to compete in Youth America Grand Prix ( world’s largest non-profit international student ballet competition) next month as well! She is just wickedly talented!!!

Although she looks so mature and stoic in all these images I wanted to make sure to still capture her sweet essence. I love this genuine smile!

Lily has always had the most amazing eyes. Even as a baby they were memorizing. Paired with her ginger hair her eyes are almost a seafoam color!

I now have a new appreciation for ballet! I know Lily puts countless hours and drive into becoming the best ballet dancer she can be. It’s something she is passionate about, and it shows. I am excited to see how she grows with our continuing shoots! Proud of you Lily!!!
