While Jackson Hole weddings are in full swing in the spring and summer months, winter months can be just as busy. Between celebrating holidays, and spending time with family, planning your Jackson Hole wedding during the colder months can get crazy! Throughout my time as a Jackson Hole wedding photographer, I’ve helped my fair share of brides plan their big day, and I’m here to help you too!
Throughout the holiday season, you’ll be spending time with family and friends, ask for their help! Lean on family and friends to help make decisions, tour venues, and even go dress shopping. It’s a great time to coordinate travel for your Jackson Hole wedding as well. With everyone in the same place, get all the questions out of the way and get all your loved ones to your wedding.
There’s nothing worse than trying to compete with holiday mail, send invites early so guests can RSVP in a timely manner. Don’t get lost in a sea of Christmas cards. Allow your guests ample time to consult their calendar, and get you on their books. We suggest sending invites for your wedding a few months in advance, but for a holiday wedding, even sooner!
Next, stay on schedule. While the last few months of the year are chaotic and full of holiday planning and fun, it’s easy to let planning slide. Don’t! It’s crucial to planning your day that you reach out to the necessary vendors and stay on track. Dresses are taking longer with shipment delays, and vendors book their calendars earlier and earlier each year. Set goals and due dates for yourself to ensure specific and important tasks are accomplished.
Oftentimes during the holiday months certain legalities may take longer for your Jackson Hole wedding. With offices closing for holidays, and people traveling to visit family it may be more difficult to gather necessary documents. Give yourself time and get a planner!
While you’re shopping for holiday gifts, or even noticing seasonal sales, don’t forget about wedding decor! Take advantage of Cyber Monday, Black Friday and all the after holiday sales. Not only can you find the best deals on pretty much everything, you’ll be able to save money for your honeymoon, future home, or even date nights. Start gathering things here and there for your wedding to keep on budget, while not getting overwhelmed trying to buy all the things at once.
Lastly, don’t let yourself get burned out. The holidays are already so busy, don’t let wedding planning take over and ruin this season. Plan time specifically for date night, time with family, or even just a day in bed with a good book! This season of life is short, and should be enjoyed with those you love most. If planning your Jackson Hole wedding becomes too much, take a break. Everything will work out in the end.
