Being a Jackson Hole Photographer isn’t always happiness in the mountains. The drive, stress, and unpredictable weather wears on your body and mind. There are always movies about friends that go on epic adventures together. This is a blog about one of those trips. Its a Jackson Hole Photographer vacation blog!
2020 was a year that was beyond crazy for a business owner. As Jackson Hole wedding photographers we needed a vacation! I had booked a wedding in CA and planned on taking Janelle from Janelle and Co with me but that wedding got moved to Texas. So, we planned on using it at a later time, but it felt like that time would never come for us. It was a crazy, hard, depressing, and scary year for us.
I found myself with with travel credits that needed to be used (shout out to delta for being so flexible), and desperately wanted some warm weather. Idaho weather was still so bleak and Jackson Hole was still buried in snow. Then, Janelle randomly won a a couple nights at a hotel in Florida. So, Janelle and I decided that it would be really fun to go to Florida and hit up Disney World! DISCLAIMER: The crappy photo are ones that Disney took. Ha!
It seemed odd to me to go to Disney World without any kids, but now I understand why adults go alone. Don’t get me wrong we absolutely missed our kids, and there are many times we wish that we could live through their eyes. But it was so nice to have our own schedule, and eat what we wanted!
If you know us, you will know that we are opposites in many ways. Janelle is organized and much more reserved and well.. It showed in our photos on rides. WE LAUGHED SO HARD! haha
Oh my gosh I hated that ride so much. It wasn’t Janelle‘s favorite either so it worked out for both of us. We also hit up Animal Kingdom, and we practically ran on and off Everest three times in a row. It was so crazy fun, And the yeti got me every single time!!! However after the third time we realize that we were going to puke so we stopped ha ha Ha.
Surprising enough the animal safari ride was my favorite! The animals got so close to us and were very active. However I felt like I needed to see a chiropractor after haha.
While we were traveling through Florida we got to meet up with some amazing clients that Janelle set up and some photograph some shoots that I set up. It was so fun to shoot together and find locations with vibrant greens. Idaho and Jackson Hole were still dead and marshy. The change was nice!
We also tried some amazing food! We went to a seafood restaurant while on an island, and it was hands-down the best food we ever had. If you know me you know I don’t like fish. However I will eat it when it is fresh, and not fishy. This is the best fish I ever had!
I think one of our favorite things that was the smoothie bowls we could get and eat while sitting on the beach. Since Janelle and I are both not people keen on swimming in the ocean, we spent a lot of time just walking up and down the beach and soaking up the sunshine.
Have you gone on a girls trip? I think I need to make it a priority every year. Where should we go next?
