While wedding planning, a destination elopement may cross your mind for a second, and then quickly pass by. Maybe it’s “too expensive, not what’s expected, or just plain crazy”. Being a Jackson Hole elopement photographer, I’m here to change your mind. We’re going to talk about all the reasons why you’ve got to elope in Jackson Hole!
Who says you can’t start your wedding off on vacation. I love suggesting a destination elopement to engaged couples, because this only happens once. You should go out, and make it everything you want it to be! If you’re ready to take the leap and just do the dang thing, take a look at our elopement planning tips. As a local Jackson Hole photographer, I’ll be able to make personalized recommendations and help plan your dream elopement.
If you decide to elope in Jackson Hole, consider bringing close family along for the ride! While traditional elopements were just the couple, it’s your day, and you can bring whomever you want. Make it a wedding weekend and bring who you love most.
Planning your elopement can be more than just the getting married part! Consider taking time to explore Grand Teton National Park, go whitewater rafting, or even shopping downtown. Think about how special Jackson Hole will be to your family years from now, you can bring your kids here to relive your big day. Add on a day or two to your elopement plans to rest, relax, and just enjoy the moment. Real life will hit quicker than you think, so plan to extend the fantasy a little!
When you choose to elope, you’re choosing to make it smaller, and more intimate. If you choose to elope in Jackson Hole, the beauty of the area will although the event to have the best backdrops (especially if you choose to elope in Grand Teton National Park!) An elopement, generally speaking, means fewer guests, and more focus on your love. Elopements are a pretty incredible way to center everyone, and bring your relationship to the forefront of the day. These more private events really are so romantic, and make me excited to do what I do!
Whether you choose to have it just the two of you and the necessary people to make it legal, or if you bring along a few guests, it’ll still be a romantic ceremony to remember.
Generally when planning an elopement, it’s a smaller scale affair. Smaller scale means less details, and less things to stress about! The best wedding planning advice I’ve heard and share with all my clients, choose three things to focus on, and allow the rest to fall by the wayside. Things are bound to go wrong, whether that’s forgetting something, or weather changes, we’re human, it happens. Give yourself grace, and prepare for it!
When you book a local Jackson Hole elopement photographer, we’ve got all the tips and tricks to make your day go as smoothly as possible!
