If you’re reading this, that means you’re probably recently engaged and planning your big day. Congratulations! As a Grand Teton National Park elopement photographer, I’m walking you through the planning process. If you’ve chosen to elope, you may be going for a simple vibe focusing mostly on your love and the location, I’ve got you covered. Let’s dive right in!
First, let’s talk all about location. You may be thinking, Lizzy, I’ve already chosen my location, Grand Teton National Park! My friends, there are so many beautiful spots within the park, and it’s important to choose your ceremony spot ahead of time to make sure you don’t have to reserve anything. Check out our updated Grand Teton National Park wedding guide for updates on those locations.
Although you’re eloping, that doesn’t mean you can’t have some elements of a traditional wedding day there. Do you want flowers, a cake, or music? Your elopement can be as small and simple or elegant and extravagant as you want, I always like to suggest flowers and a cake for celebration after. It makes the whole day feel that much more real, and I just love flowers! Sit down with your partner and decide what is important to you on your big day, and make the calls after.
One of my favorite vendors to recommend for elopements is a videographer. Videographers do such a great job capturing your day from start to finish, and there’s something about being able to watch your wedding on video years from now. As photographers and videographers we both work together to tell your story in the most authentic way possible. If you’re looking for an incredible videographer, check out Tennison, he’s on our team and absolutely incredible!

Over the last few years, the line between weddings and elopements has become a little blurry, and we love it! Your elopement can have everything a wedding has or nothing at all, that’s the beauty of the day being yours. It’s totally up to the two of you to decide what or who is going to be there. If you decide that all you want at your Grand Teton National Park elopement is the officiant, photographers, and your partner, do it. Gone are the days of tradition, do what is going to make you happiest!
As a Grand Teton National Park elopement photographer, I can’t advocate enough for having a photographer at your elopement! This only happens once, and if you’re planning to keep it small, you’ll want to have pictures to show family and friends. As a local photographer, I’ve been to tons of elopements and can give you all the best tips, and help make wedding planning easier. When choosing locations, looking for vendors, etc. It’s pretty much the best having a local photographer on your side!
