This colorful Jackson Hole elopement at Colter Bay was one of my favorites. As a Jackson Hole photographer who loves color I super love it when my brides love bright and beautiful colors. Lydia was an amazing bride that really utilized our vendor referral list and the results were beautiful!

When deciding on a location to have your Jackson Hole elopement it’s really important to figure out what your vision is. For Lydia and Tuker it was super important that they were by water for their wedding. Water and boats are a big part of their life and their love story. However, they knew what they wanted! It was so refreshing knowing how to best help this couple.

When you’re looking for a specific location it’s good to know what it is that you want for your backdrop. Do you want mountains? How about trees? Maybe you want water? Do you want to be up high in the Valley? Do you want to be in an accessible area for guests with limited mobility? Overall, there is something that will fit your needs.

Another factor to take into consideration is how many people will be there. How many guests are you planning on? Grand Teton National Park actually has limits on how many people can be present at the ceremony. This number includes you, the couple, the officiant, and me as your Jackson Hole elopement photographer. If you are under 12 people you can get married pretty much anywhere within the park as a dispersed wedding. If you qualify for this, you just need a dispersed wedding permit.

How do you get awarded a wedding permit? You have to apply for it within the year that you are getting married. The date when you can apply for your permit is announced on the Grand Teton National Park service website every year. When you apply for your permit you pay $200 and give them your first choice of date and location. They will either award you that request or they will give you alternative options. They do work with you and try to find a location and a time and day that works for you.
