This simple backyard Idaho wedding reminded me as an Idaho Photographer why we do what we do. Weddings come in all shapes and sizes. However, at the core of every wedding are two parts. First, that a couple is coming together as one. Two, the couple is surrounded by family and friends who want to celebrate their union. Sometimes with these backyard weddings they are so intimate that you feel the core aspects even stronger. I will walk you through some of the main takeaways of this wedding. It was a wedding that rejuvenated my soul and reminded me how important relationships are. After all, relationships with family and friends is everything!

Stunning Backyard Idaho Wedding

American Falls is outside of Pocatello and is a rural agricultural area. With a population under 5,000. The town slogan is, “Where the Sun Shines in Every Window”. How cute is that?! It hugs the snake river and when you go there you need to check out the American Falls Reservoir. Really, I am surprised I don’t photograph more weddings there. I know there are countless areas full of beauty. Not to mention the farms I passed that were obviously a generational paradise. I would love to come back to this area and photograph more of these small town weddings!

The Couple

This cute couple came up from Arizona so they could share their special day around family and friends. It was my first backyard Idaho wedding with Tenneson Stanley Films, and I could tell why Lizzy loves working with him so much. His services were a surprise to the couple provided by the grooms parents. It was such a fun wedding. If I had to label it in one word it would be, love. I felt so much love. It wasn’t sided either. His parents love her and are excited. Her parents love him and are so excited. Everyone loves and supports everyone. That is exactly the way every wedding should be!
