Our blog is full of tips and tricks to plan the best elopement ever. However, if you don’t have time to read over pages and pages of blogs I will let you in on the #1 Grand Teton elopement tip. Are you ready? Here is the #1 Grand Teton Elopement Tip.
Plan your elopement during the off season.
I know, it sounds crazy. Just hear me out.
Off season has its perks! Look at planning your elopement in spring April – May, or fall September – October. You will have amazing colors, and the park is less crowded. Not to mention that you will find lodging and food to be more affordable. It’s our favorite time to go to the park as a family because it’s less crowded.
These times are a gamble with the weather. Spring especially can be tricky. Last winter the snow took a long time to melt. That can limit where you can elope or if the park roads are open. There is a chance of rain or even more snow. However, May is my favorite month for photography in Grand Teton National Park and Jackson Hole elopements. The Tetons are packed with snow, mountains look blue, and everything’s so green and covered in flowers. It’s a magical time in the park.
Once you figure out when to get eloped there are a couple things to cross off your list.
You will need a permit to have any kind of ceremony inside of the park. To do this you got to the parks website, pay the fee and select your date and location. Permits open up for the year in the winter months. If you follow us on social media we post it and remind our clients of when it opens. Spots are limited so move fast!
The Grand Teton National Park is very diverse and lighting can change in an instant. Knowing where to go and what to do when the lighting changes is part of your photographer’s job. Unless you are from the area with years of practice it’s impossible to know where to go. A local Jackson Hole photographer can guide you to the best spots for the perfect lighting, and help you make the most of your special day.
Grand Teton National Park is such a beautiful location. That is why people come from all over the world to visit! You won’t regret having your elopement there. We can help you select the perfect ceremony location for your vision and group size. There are locations with water, trees, accessibility, and more. All we need is to know what your wants and needs are.
